Fantastic Limestone Gorge, up to 80ft deep in places, with bridges and walkways running down its length. Dubbed 'Yorkshire's Little Switzerland'. There is a 360ft long tunnel - Tom Taylor's Cave - which can be explored and walked through - with a Torch hired from the Gorge shop. In fine weather How Stean Tunnel is also accessible and can be scrambled through. There is extensive parking for patrons and the licensed cafe serves a great selection of home cooked food ranging from snacks to a three course meal. The Gorge is a natural feature and has irregular and slippery surfaces with narrow paths and walkways. It is not suitable for pushchairs or for those with ambulatory difficulties.

Disabled Access
The Café has disabled access and there are disabled toilet facilities. The Gorge is not suitable for those with ambulatory or visual impairments.

Directions
From Pateley Bridge, near Harrogate, take the Lofthouse Road (the turning next to Pately Fuel Station) and travel 7 miles up Dale to Lofthouse. The Gorge is clearly marked from the village.
